Found: AR iPad App Visualizes Furniture At Home

---

via PSFK

London and Helsinki-based startup Sayduck has created an augmented reality app that allows users to see how a piece of furniture looks in their home before buying it. This visualization solution utilizes the live camera feed of a mobile device and projects a virtual representation of the object in real-time on a tracking marker, allowing the user to view the virtual object from any angle. This solves the problem of picturing how a piece of furniture would fit in its intended environment.

For the first time ever, people in the US are spending more time using mobile phone apps than browsing the web.
What that means, basically, is less of "facebook.com" and more of the Facebook button on your iPhone.

I didn't know there was a 'Facebook button'. #lol

Timespent

Via TechCrunch:

The average time spent on the Internet by adults in the U.S. grew an estimated 6 percent in 2010 to 155 minutes a day, or about two and a half hours, according to new estimates from eMarketer.

More startling is that time spent on mobile devices is now the same as time spent reading print newspapers and magazines combined. The average American spends an estimated 50 minutes a day staring at his cell phone, versus 30 minutes reading a print newspaper and 20 minutes reading a magazine.

The Times iPad infographic - "Health Profile of England" created by Applied Works

32 different indicators of health are accessed via a navigation wheel, giving access to colour coded maps of England. The profile of each region is accessible either via the map itself or through the navigation wheels at the foot of the page. A traffic light colour code indicates whether a statistic is better than (green), worse than (red) or not significantly different to (yellow) the national average.
