Photo Academy iPhone App featured by Apple

We had some great news today with Photo Academy being featured in the New & Noteworthy section of the App Store globally (...except US / AU).

Binary collaborated with Aspyre Apps to design Photo Academy, a comprehensive guide and tool set for digital photographers of all skill levels. 

Hundreds of great apps are launched each week and to be noticed by the curators of the App Store is quite an honour. Congrats go out to the Asprye guys and fingers crossed the US / AU Stores will feature the app next week.

Hype: Smartphone ownership set to rocket

Nearly half of all Australians now own a smartphone with that figure expected to rise to 60% in the next 12 months according to a major Telstra study.

Article Highlights
  • Around 46% of Aussies now have a smartphone up from 36% last year with half of men (51%) compared to 42% of women owning one.
  • The smartphone is not just a Gen Y fad, nearly a quarter of over 50s (23%) have one, and 39% are over 40.
  • Almost half of smartphone web-surfers have used their phones to find out more about a product or service before mak- ing a purchase. Almost a quarter have used their phones to price check while on the shop floor.

"The entire piece is composed from the latest HTML5 and CSS3 technology (canvas, audio, transforms & transitions) so you'll need a newer browser to view it in. I recommend Chrome because it pulls off the best performance with my mangled code. All of the waveform and spectrum visualisation is performed in realtime, so your browser is rendering a music video on the fly!"

World Graphic Design Day has been celebrated internationally since 1995. It is an opportunity to recognise the role of communication design and its contribution to a greater understanding of graphic design as a medium for progressive change.

Launched: Callan Park 'your plan'

On 25th May 2010 Leichhardt Council unanimously resolved to begin Master Planning for Callan Park. McGregor Coxall, well established urban designers and landscape architects, and a team of specialists will work with the community to develop the Master Plan for the entire Callan Park site.

Leichhardt Council’s brief to McGregor Coxall called for robust and ongoing community participation in the Master Planning process. The Callan Park ‘your plan’ website gives you a direct and significant role in decision making during this project.
